John liked to smile and say hello to people.
Oh no, he is coming to sit next to me again. Why can’t he be sick, just for once? Or more than once, maybe twice? Better still, why can’t he be sick forever? Or even better still, why can’t he die so he never comes to sit next to me again?
Having recently attended a workshop-style seminar, I was reminded of how much such events put me out of my comfort zone.
