Looking to the Future, Leaving onlookers Behind,
Forgetting Vulnerabilities, Assuming they are Blind;
Caring nothing for Yesterday, Having no use for the Now,
Ignoring opinions of Others, Considering themselves Highbrow;
Drinking and eating, Breathing in fresh Air,
Admiring the outlook, Living without a Care;
Enjoying imperfections, Laughing at modern Constraints,
Relaxing more often, Ignoring the modern-day Saints.

She spoke some words. The lady who sat opposite said nothing.
She spoke some more words. The lady who sat opposite still said nothing.
She spoke so much that she began to cry. The lady who sat opposite said nothing.
She cried so much that she could no longer speak. The lady who sat opposite still said nothing.
She wiped her tears with tissues. The lady who sat opposite nodded her head while still saying nothing.
She sighed and covered her face with her hands. The lady who sat opposite said nothing.
She said nothing more; she felt hollow and laid bare. But the lady who sat opposite said nothing.
Silence continued. It was a wordless room.
There was a brief knock at the door.
The lady who sat opposite checked her clock. ‘One out, one in’ she thought.
The lady who sat opposite spoke; ‘Let’s make another appointment for the same time next Monday’.
Having recently attended a workshop-style seminar, I was reminded of how much such events put me out of my comfort zone.
